This is really a bird post, but I have to thank Dev Joslin for what I am seeing at the creek. For a couple of years after we signed onto the Valley Birds listserv we read Dev's post about watering the birds each fall. It inspired us to add a water feature to our yard and every time I get to watch a warbler take a bath, I want to say 'thanks again Dev!' Today the warbler list was only 8 species, but there were several individuals of a couple of species: Canada 2, chestnut-sided 6, American Redstart 2, black and white 2, prairie 1, northern parula 1, worm-eating 4, hooded 5. Throw in 4 red-eyed vireos, 1 Baltimore oriole, 1 scarlet tanager, 5 gray catbirds, 4 indigo buntings, and host of non-migrants and you can see where my afternoon went. Thanks again Dev!
