The Fall meeting for the Tennessee Ornithological Society is rapidly
approaching (September 30-October 2). The Buffalo River Chapter is looking
forward to hosting this meeting and are planning what will hopefully be an
exciting weekend of birds and fellowship. Although pre-registration is not
required, I would like to encourage everyone to send in your registration as
soon as possible. Pre-registration will help us (Buffalo River Chapter) plan
our activities and it will definitely speed up the sign-in process during
Friday evening's gathering. Information and a registration form can be found
in the recent issue of The Tennessee Warbler and on-line
(www.tnbirds.org<http://www.tnbirds.org>).
We have had no one express interest in making a presentation during the
symposium/poster session Saturday afternoon. If you have anything you would
like to present, please contact me
(tnbarredowl@xxxxxxx<mailto:tnbarredowl@xxxxxxx>) before September 30.
We are also offering a pre-meeting boat trip near Wheeler Dam Friday afternoon
(12:00-4:00). I will have to have 12 confirmed participants by this Saturday
(September 24) to confirm the trip with the captain. Currently, only one
person has expressed interest. Contact me directly
(tnbarredowl@xxxxxxx<mailto:tnbarredowl@xxxxxxx>) if you are interested.
Payment ($30.00 per person) will be due after the trip and payable directly to
Captain Steve. I haven't had much time to scope the area recently, but I have
seen several Lesser Black-backed Gulls around the locks during routine drives
over the dam.
Hope to see many folks in a couple of weeks in Lawrenceburg.
