TN birders, Managed both waterthrushes the same day, probably the first time that has ever happened.? Started the day at Standifer Gap Marsh(Hamilton Co) hoping for the LB Dowitcher, but no luck.? Things were quiet, with only a few lesser yellowlegs, few swallows, and a perched Osprey stand guard. Lunch time along the access road to Nickajack Dam(Marion Co) produced 4 FOY birds-broad-winged hawk, 2 eastern kingbirds in front of the TVA police trailer, yellow-breasted chat, and a northern waterthrush at the wet area on the right on the access road to the boat ramp. After work, swung by Riverport Ind Park(Hamilton Co) for a great look at a male Bobolink(FOY) with that wonderful vocalization.? Check the Chickamauga Dam(Hamilton Co) with the slim hope for the Willets flying around, but no luck.? Tried the? dirt road off Owl Hollow Road(Bradley Co) at the base of White Oak Mountain where Rick Waldrop had told me he had Louisiana waterthrush, and on the third try, heard and saw my bird, a new one for Bradley Co and FOY.?? Checked the fields at the Jackson Farm(Bradley Co) for Bobolinks, but nothing heard or seen.? If anyone has any leads on this one in Bradley Co, please let me know.
