TN NWR Duck River Unit Humphreys County 08/16/13 Thanks to bad weather, mechanical breakdowns, gremlins and the zombie apocalypse (ever had one of those weeks!) the refuge will be closed Monday through potentially Friday of next week for aerial spraying of invasive plants. The roads will be open this weekend. Unfortunately nothing to exciting going on. No more sightings of the spoonbill, high water has covered most of the shorebird habitat and even the herons and egrets have thinned. Blue-winged teal and soras should be arriving but have not yet been seen/heard any yet. Clayton Ferrell
