A week ago today we reported on the American Tree Sparrow coming to our yard,
The next day - Thursday, February 5 - two of our local birders came to see and
photograph this beautiful little bird which was a lifer for both of them. We
did not see this bird again until it reappeared after the fierce wind and rain
storm that passed through our area about an hour ago . We assume it was
around but on the warm and calm days it did not need the seed we put on the
ground. So the old axiom that "it is an ill wind that blows no good" seems to
apply here as trees are down but we are enjoying even more looks at the first
one of its kind ever reported in DeKalb County.
