I went birding between rains mid afternoon, April 25th. Saw: FOS male Indigo buntings (2) and a female! Prothonotary warbler singing his heart out on a branch overlooking the Wolf River. He must be the same one that I see at that spot every year. Birded down by the turtle bayou and there were lots of year round birds but also saw the buntings there. Saw a Pileated Woodpecker along with red- bellied WP. Lots of gray Gnatcatchers in the trees and heard a white eyed vireo in a thicket. Still hearing the white throated sparrows. I put my hummingbird feeder out 2 days ago and had the first male almost immediately. Good Birding!
