Good morning all!

My excitement started last Thursday when I had my first female hummingbird
for the year!!

The bluebird couple is currently sitting on their nest and protecting as
usual. I did sneak a peek a week ago and found 3 eggs. I tried last
Thursday, but the male charged at me..so I politely left.

We had two new birds in our backyard this weekend..a very exciting moment
for my husband and I!!! We viewed our first male Indigo Bunting
ever..beautiful colors of blue. Actually, he was on our feeder and then
flew into our window..falling to the ground. I ran downstairs quickly to
check him out. Within an hour he was up and off again!! (Which is another
topic..what do we do when we find a hurt bird in our yard? And to keep them
safe from my three terrors---terriers).

The second new bird to us spotted in our backyard was a male Rose-Breasted
Grosbeak. This bird was so beautiful in flight! It is so nice to see some
new birds!

And, lastly we finally found out what our "critter" was that has been
feeding on our suet feeders at night. Everything we thought it was..it
wasn't. It was several "flying squirrels"!! I have never seen them before
this weekend...it was kind of cool to watch them. They are very fast!
