Sightings Report Thurs 8 Feb 07 Ensley Bottoms area Memphis Shelby County
Location:     TN 2 Mem,TVA PONDS

Observation date:     2/8/07, 1230-1255pm

Notes:     Big change today, big pond alot of noise with the dredging on the
west end, only 12 L Scaup, some Coots and a Heron. The little pond was a
different story with upwards of 500 L.Scaup.

Location:     TN 2 Mem, Riverport Rd Ponds / Swamp

Observation date:     2/8/07,1255-1340pm

Notes:     Finished out lunch with a slow crawl down the shoulder lane
scanning the brush alongside the waters edge of the sloughs and ponds.
Pileated WP was bird of the day for his display so close to the rd. (If I
only had the camera with me today)Watched him excavate a hole for a while
until he went to another tree and started pecking bark off looking for a
meal. Great close up views today.
