[TN-Bird] Sightings Report 24 Sept 06, Collierville

Collierville, Shelby County, TN
 

Location:     Frank Rd Landfill Greenbelt Park

Observation date:     9/24/06, 5:10p-6:20p

Notes:      The days are cooling nicely, even with a good breeze the
mosquitoes were still out. Both the quarry lake and the beaver pond are down
still. The old sumerged(usually)levee on the beaver pond is high and dry.
Lack of any shorebirds with all this mud flats. 4-wheelers have cut a new
path to a nice mixed grove of young willows, birch and swamp oak. need to
see this in an AM setting.  25 total deer seen, no bucks though (no hunting
this property) (Archery season started saturday) Red-tail was the lone
Raptor. (One person 2.5 mile hike.)
