3 July 2006 Shelby Farms, Memphis,Tn. (Shelby County) Hot- 93+ degs Birded from 11:00 - 12:50 mostly the south side of Walnut Grove Rd. Raptor Center south along trail towards the river. Ms. Kite - 1 Morn. Dove - 7 Grackle -1 Indigo Bunting - 4 Cardinals - 5 Brown Thrashers - 5 (dust bathing on the trail) Am Goldfinch - 2 Robin - 2 Red Wing Black Bd - 2 Blue Jay -1 Titmouse -1 Killdeer -1 Catch-em Lake area Ms. Kite - 2 Mallards - 12 w/8 young Kingbird -1 Meander Lake area Killdeer - 2 Green Heron -1 Can Geese - 6 Cowbirds - 4 Ms. Kite - 9 (Congregating on east end of the lake enjoying a drink and then flying off into the southern treeline) North side of Walnut Grove including; Patriot Lake area, Pine Lake and Beaver lake(Shelter 4) areas yielded the usual summer residents only one notable and that was a Great Egret wading the NW end of Beaver lake. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
