A quick trip to the bottoms after work today yielded very little in the way of migrants (which I somewhat expected at around 4:00 p.m. on this warm, clear day). I had only 2 species of warbler (Magnolia and Common yellowthroat), 1 Red-eyed Vireo, 1 White-eyed Vireo, 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, 3 Eastern Wood-Pewee's, and a small flock of Waxwings. All was not lost however, as I encountered a single LARK SPARROW on the paved trail along the river in Phase 1. I was able to study the bird for quite some time without a single roller-blader or bicyclist mowing me down (a difficult feat to accomplish on most days :-) Cheers,Michael SmithGallatin, TN 37066 _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Topographical Maps located at http://topozone.com/find.asp * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Tennessee Ornithological Society web site at http://www.tnbirds.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net Owner: Wallace Coffey, Bristol, TN jwcoffey@xxxxxxxxxx (423) 764-3958 =========================================================
