Tom Saya, Steve Stedman, David Vogt, and I birded in the Sequatchie Valley, Bledsoe Co. from 8 AM to 5 PM today (Sunday, November 29). We were at Ninemile (north of Pikeville) at dusk and found a Loggerhead Shrike there, but no Short-eared Owls. (No Short-eared Owls at the Hillendale Rd./Shadow Mt. Estates area of Cumberland County either--I checked there on Saturday evening [Nov. 28] and a couple of other times earlier in November without success.) The ebird list is below.
