Since I was already in Murfreesboro this Saturday morning for
another reason, I decided to pop over to Highway 231 and look
for Laura McCall's SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHERs.  Her directions
were excellent and after a few minutes I finally found both
birds perhaps 50 yards south of the Christmas Creek bridge.
The birds were perched in one of three cedar trees near the 
road.  After a few minutes they flew across the highway and
alighted in a large tree in a field with a small red barn.
I enjoyed them sailing forth to flycatch a couple times, 
but they perhaps were not as active as they might have been
earlier in the morning. They are always wonderful birds to 
watch.
