This afternoon I was walking the road at Radnor Lake, watching an adult and
an immature Bald Eagle circle each other as they went higher and higher,
when I heard the distinct call of Sandhill Cranes flying south over the
hills. Didn't get to see them, so I don't know how many. But there was a
third eagle, another adult, perched in a tree near the cormorant point.
There was also a raft of at least 150 ducks way out near the mouth of the
northern cove. I didn't have my scope, but it looked like a combination of
Gadwall, Ringed-necked, Lesser Scaup, and Pied-billed Grebes. A siskin
landed on the road just 6 feet from me.
