TN-Birders, I hope many of you were out today throughout central Tennessee. I have a feeling many Sandhill Cranes were migrating northward. I know Robbie Hassler will report her sightings also, so I won't mention them here. As my wife and I were driving south on Hwy 111, we came upon a large field of corn stubble left from a late harvest. You might guess that the field full of Sandhills, probably about 200 of them. We stopped by the side of the highway and two cranes continued grazing not more than 50 feet away - what a beautiful sight ! Later, we saw 35 in two small flights over the town of Livingston, TN.
