Sorry I forgot to post this morning. The little beauty made it safely through the freeze last night. I put a light on the feeder and he came in at 6:10 a.m. and fed five times in the next ten minutes. I assume he used up a lot of energy staying warm and needed to replenish it quickly. He fed throughout the day until 3:30 p.m., the time he usually settles in for the night. You still have an invitation to come and see him. We are early risers so you could come before daylight and catch his first trips to the feeder or come anytime during the day. He usually feeds 2-3 times each hour. We are just about 45 minutes from Nashville and easy to find. Call or email for directions. Seeing his rufous coloring with just a hint of green beginning to appear on the head and back is worth a trip.
