Nine Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were simultaneously visible at our feeders this
morning, April 30, 2016. Two weeks ago, most of the Grosbeaks were adult
males. Today there are at least 4 females and two males in transition from
juvenile plumage to adult male plumage as well as 4 to 5 adult males.
A few Indigo Buntings are still around. Other avian visitors are normal
frequent feeders. Unfortunately the Common Grackles have found us for the first
time this spring.
