Great River Road Island 13 Mississippi River Lake co. Tn Today I was birding with two ladies and we went down 181, the great River Road to Mile marker 1 and looked and our first time there we did not find the bird. We did not find them in the water near the entrance to Moss Island. We returned to the water that is further south at mile marker 1 and finally was able to see the bird as it was walking and feeding behind some trees. The bird finally came out in the open for a great view and the two ladies got a state bird. Lots of Great Egrets and some first year Little Blues and Great Blue Herons were there, Wood Ducks and Mallards and a Mississippi Kite flew over. We birded Island 13 and did not find many birds there. We did get two Semi-palmated Plovers and two Pectoral Sandpiper, some Least Sp. and Killdeer.
