[TN-Bird] River Watch - Memphis TN - 2-Black Scoters

Nov. 18-19-20-21, 2008
Mississippi River Front
Shelby, Co. TN
 
Tried to spend at least an hour each day viewing the floating river  traffic. 
 
Here are daily tallys:
Nov. 18 - 33 Ruddy Ducks, 11 Bufflehead and 6 Horned Grebes +9 Ring-billed  
Gulls
 
Nov. 19 - 4 Ring-billed Gulls, 1 imm. Herring, 2 Horned Grebes, 93  
Red-breasted Mergansers, 28 Ring-necked Ducks, 22 Ruddy Ducks, 14 Redhead, 8  
Lesser 
Scaup, 7 Bufflehead and 2 Dc Cormorants
 
Nov. 20 - 7 Ruddy Ducks, 43 Ring-billed Gulls and 5 Herring
 
Nov. 21 - 103 Bufflehead (mostly adult males, a super sight), 35 Lesser  
Scaup, 3 Ruddy Ducks, 2 BLACK SCOTER (female/imm. type) both separate about  
1/2 
mile apart but could be seen at same time. 2 Horned Grebes    
Good Birding  !!!
