The Lookout Mountain Conservancy/CTOS fieldtrip to the Guild Trail (Lookout Mountain) was a great success on Sunday April 17. Fifteen species of warblers were seen or heard and several other migrants and recently arrived breeders were observed. The warbler composition reminded us more of late April to early May than the middle of April. Highlights included: 1 Swainsons Warbler (singing at the parking lot as we were leaving!) 3 Cerulean 2 Blackpoll (the earliest I have ever seen in SE TN!) 2 Cape May 1 Nashville 2 Blue-winged 2 Blackburnian 3 Tennessee 10 Black-throated Green 1 Prairie 2 Palm 1 Black and White 4 Hooded 8 Yellow-rumped 3 Indigo Bunting 3 Wood thrush 5 Rose-breasted Grosbeak 5 Summer Tanager 5 Scarlet Tanager Kevin Calhoon Assistant Curator of Forests Tennessee Aquarium 423-785-4070 =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
