Twenty -five observers found 95 species on the Hiwassee CBC held on January 4. It was cold clear day and the highlights included two new species for the count: a Prairie Falcon(never refound) (first SE TN record) found by Tommie Rogers and Libby Wolfe and a Northern Rough-winged Swallow found by my party. Highlights included: - New record high for Redheads (283) - Prairie Falcon - New count high for Red-headed Woodpecker (26) - 16 Least Sandpiper - 77 Dunlin - Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 4 American Woodcock - 24 Bald Eagles - 1 Golden Eagle - 13597 Sandhill Cranes - 3 Whooping Cranes - 2 Great Egret LOWLIGHTS: - No Sharp-shinned Hawk - 2 Common Grackle Thanks for everyone who helped with this count!!!
