Ten Islands, Douglas Lake, Cocke county, by canoe
Lake elevation: approx. 975.8 ft.

9/28/10 (with Leslie Gibbens) - The air was filled with birds: uncountable
tree swallows everywhere, with flashing flights of shorebirds. RED-NECKED
PHALAROPE was the bird or the day, a lifer for us. We spotted it foraging with
a sanderling; it later joined a flock of pectoral sandpipers.
