The subject line sounds familiar today! Lake Tansi was pretty good this 
evening. The Red-necked Grebes are my first there.

Comments:     UT Grasslands Unit, Lake Hiawatha, Lake Tansi beach, marina at 
late afternoon until dark; 52 - 48 degrees, clear, light breeze; many ducks 
gathering in middle of Tansi at dusk.

Canada Goose  20     one had white neck band (couldn't read number); bird from 
Putnam Co.
Mute Swan  1     usual bird at cove by Arrowhead Dr.

American Black Duck  4     at dusk on Tansi

Northern Shoveler  20     Tansi and Hiawatha (likely same flock as two days ago)

Lesser Scaup  60     Tansi; most appeared at dusk

Arrowhead Dr.; same location as last week so presumably the same bird

Red-necked Grebe  2     Two different birds in separate parts of Lake Tansi at 
the same time; one seen with Horned Grebes and Pied-billed Grebe in same scope 
view (from 300 yards); relatively large size, distinctly long bill, fairly long 
neck, and sharp angle at back of head gave a distinct profile; coloration 
similar to dull Horned Grebe with pale area at auriculars (not quite a 
crescent); photos taken (poor quality digiscope but identifiable); one bird 
seen from the beach; later both were seen from the marina (one near the beach, 
the other at the west end of the lake
