Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson Co., TN
2017 May 26

On this cool Friday morning I walked around the lake at
Radnor Lake looking for late migrants. The BLACK-BELLIED
WHISTLING DUCK continues to be found in the large pond
at the east end of Radnor and can easily be seen from
Otter Creek Road. It appears to have attached itself to
a pair of MALLARDs, as it rested and then fed with them. A
single female CANADA WARBLER at the dam was the only other
slightly unusual bird found. All the rest were the usual
summer residents.
