Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Nashville-Davidson Co. TN
Sunday 09 April 2006
This morning along the lake trail I saw a male hooded warbler on three separate
occasions. I was alerted the first time by its singing. I'm not sure if this
was the same bird all three times. The first time he was fairly high, the
second time at eye-level, and the third time the bird was foraging near the
ground; all this was over a 30-minute period as I walked the trail.

I also heard what I believe to be a Kentucky warbler, but I was never able to
see him. It is a little early for Kentucky warblers, but "Birds of Nashville
Area", third edition has 09 April as earliest record.

Also heard, but not seen, were black-throated green and northern parula.

And of course seen and heard was a plethora of yellow rumps, many in splendid
breeding plumage.
