Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Wednesday, 20 September 2006 7:15 - 10:00 am A walk at Radnor Lake this morning in the crisp clear weather was a real treat. Phillip Casteel and I wandered ahead of the substantial NTOS Wednesday walk flotilla, which eventually caught up to us at Long Bridge. Activity was spread out, and we had to dig hard at times to find different species. Nevertheless, we ended with 9 warbler and 4 vireo species, before I fully retraced my steps to the west parking lot and headed for work, where I made final preparations for tomorrow's business trip to Tucson, AZ. The best bird of the day was an ALDER FLYCATCHER, while looks at 2 GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLERs and a YELLOW-THROATED VIREO, found by Jan Shaw, also left me with a smile on face. Chatting briefly with birding friends for the first time in several months helped to brighten the morning. Birds of particular interest included: Pied-billed Grebe 3 Hairy Woodpecker 1 Alder Flycatcher 1 House Wren 1 Swainson's Thrush 4 Gray Catbird 1 Brown Thrasher 1 Cedar Waxwing 8+ White-eyed Vireo 1 Yellow-throated Vireo 1 Philadelphia Vireo 3 Red-eyed Vireo 3 Blue-winged Warbler 1 Golden-winged Warbler 2 Northern Parula 3 Chestnut-sided Warbler 2 Magnolia Warbler 12+ Black-throated Green Warbler 3 Black-and-white Warbler 5 American Redstart 6+ Canada Warbler 2 Summer Tanager 1 Rose-breasted Grosbeak 3 -- Frank Fekel Tennessee State University Center of Excellence in Information Systems 3500 John A.
