Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN 2011 Sept. 14 7:10-9:30am partly cloudy and cool This Wednesday morning I birded with my wife Bonnie and part of the time with Phillip Casteel. My wife and I walked to Long Bridge and back while Phillip continued to Ganier Ridge. Birding was slow at first but eventually on my way back from Long Bridge my wife and I ran into the NTOS Wednesday walk group. With them spotted my first of the year GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, a nice male, the best of the 6 warbler species that Bonnie and I found. Both Phillip and the NTOS group had several warbler species that I missed. SWAINSON'S THRUSHes were plentiful, as we heard or saw at least 10 individuals. Also seen was a female SCARLET TANAGER and raft of about 250 BLUE-WINGED TEAL on the lake.
