Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson Co., TN
2016 Oct. 3
As Jan Shaw noted earlier, I birded with her and Jim Arnett at Radnor
Lake this morning. Numbers of warbler were down a bit compared to
the beginning of last week, but we did find a female GOLDEN-WINGED
WARBLER just before Long Bridge on the Lake Trail that several
photographers tried to get good photos of. Also saw a pair of young
bucks testing their antlers versus each other and several otters in
the lake, so a good wild life day in general.
On my way back to the west parking lot I found a CAPE MAY WARBLER at
the deck overlooking the lake. It was down nice and low and was more
cooperative at giving good looks compare to the one I saw several
weeks ago at Radnor. Also seen from the deck was a single RED-HEADED
WOODPECKER working the dead trees on the far side of the lake.
