Harold Sharp of the Riverwalk Bird Club in Chattanooga sent me an update on the Great White Herons along with a report of a ROSEATE SPOONBILL from the same area below Chickamauga Dam where one of the Great White Herons has been being seen. His message and a follow-up are below. Note that there are currently a good number of reports of Roseate Spoonbills along the east coast from SC, NC, and VA including a report of two well inland in NC and as many as 9 at Pea Island on the Outer Banks. So keep your eyes open for big pink birds as they seem to really be dispersing widely after breeding this year. I got in the car and drove over, when I arrived it was gone, a train spooked it and it flew down the river, we searched the river for about 3 miles and did not locate it. About 2 years ago we had one on the Farm pond where the GWH is now, I will drive up there this afternoon or tomorrow to check that pond again..... Yes ,please post it to TN-BIRDS for members of The Riverwalk Bird Club who saw it this morning. Thanks, Harold Sharp Riverwalk Bird Club. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
