Hi everyone! I'm an avid birder of 17 from Dallas - I've been birding for 6 years but have never been to the NE, until now. My family and I will be vacationing in Great Smoky Mtns National Park during the first week of June. We'll be staying in Gatlinburg and taking day trips for birding, hiking, etc. There are a few target birds I'm interested in finding that aren't typically around in Dallas. Any input or suggestions y'all could offer me on where to find these guys would be great. (Or general advice on birding the area.) If some of these will be pretty common everywhere you don't have to give specifics. Of course I won't see all of them but I'd like to get as many as I can :) Here's the target list: Ruffed Grouse* American Woodcock Northern Saw-whet Owl* E. Whip-poor-will* Veery Wood Thrush* Blue-winged Warbler* Golden-winged Warbler Black-throated Blue Warbler* Cerulean Warbler Swainson's Warbler Worm-eating Warbler *Would be a lifer Thanks in advance and good birding!
