Late this afternoon at Reelfoot Lake, Jeff Wilson, Mark Greene and Bob Foerhing discovered what in all probability is the first LONG-BILLED MURRELET ever documented in Tennessee. The bird was last seen from the boardwalk behind the state park visitors center in Tiptonville, although at that time it appeared to be very close to an old pier behind Bo's Landing, which is just west of the visitor center. A number of folks will be attemption to relocate this bird first thing in the morning. We will endeavor to have updates posted as they become available.
