J. Percy Priest Lake, Davidson Co. TN
From the dam, a little before noon, a dark jaeger was seen circling the
lake at a distance. Dark brown and short-tailed, chunky medium-large
size is about all I could get; from the profile it could have been young
Parasitic or young Pomarine, from the warm tone of the brown I would
lean toward Parasitic; nothing was flying with it to get a size comparison.
It left the immediate area traveling to the south-west shoreline.
A bit of de ja vu here, as we had a similar bird from 7-Points last year
(11/11/'17), with this view not much better! Hopefully the next sighting
will be closer and more definitive.
