Monday afternoon at 5:00, we saw a bird on a phone wire on Island Home Blvd. It
had the shape of a kestrel but larger and darker. Face nearly all dark, wings
dark gray, no apparent bands on tail, breast pale. It was at the.highest point
on the hill overlooking Tennessee School for the Deaf. We drove past it slowly
four times but weren't able to get a picture before it left.
