July 13, 2012 Poole Knob is a bust for shorebirds as Scott said. If you need Indigo Bunting, or Common Yellow Throat, or Prarie Warbler, good place to go. Did see a Great Egret at the end of the big (dry pond) where you can look onto Percy Priest Lake and quite a few Great Blue Herons. Best bird was a beautiful Adult American Kestrel, never tire of this bird probably because it was the first bird I identified on my Grandpa's farm. Fate Sanders: Island was bare. About 20 Black Vultures sitting on the ground around the Marina. GB Herons, 1 Black-crowned nightheron, purple martins and barn swallows. Hope the rain keeps bringing in the shorebirds.
