This morning (1/11/2013) I found a nicely marked "Pink-sided" Junco (subspecies of Dark-eyed that nests in the northern Rockies, formerly considered a subspecies of Oregon Junco) in southeastern Lewis County. This is the third individual of this form I have found in this general vicinity in recent years, and the second in Lewis County. Apologies to Chris Sloan, I once again failed to get a photo of the bird. It had nice bright pink sides and a very clean line between the pink sides and the gray hood.
Not too far away, yet another Lewis County "lone white goose" proved to be a Snow Goose. I have yet to find a Ross's Goose in this county.
