Pickwick Dam - Feb.17 Mary Zimmerman, Frank Fekel, and I spent the day birding Pickwick Dam in Hardin Co. Highlights of the day included two 1st year THAYER'S GULLS and one 1st year LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. All three were seen below the dam, and at times all were very close and gave us nice, long views. Despite staying until it was nearly dark, the GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL (aka "the beast") that has been in the area was not located. BROWN-HEADED NUTHATCH was also seen in the campground area below the dam.
