2021 Mar 4

Spent this bright Thursday morning stopping at various places
around J Percy Priest Lake. At Long Hunter SP--Bryant Grove
Rec. Area there were still 50+ AM WHITE PELICANs. However,
the best stop was at Seven Points Rec. Area Campground. From
the boat launch area there I spotted a lone RED-THROATED LOON
and 4 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERs. I watched the loon for a bit
before it began to dive and saw that it caught at least 2 fish.
The scoters were initially sleeping, but eventually raised
their heads and began to preen so I got to finally see the
white on their wings.
