I have been spending a lot of time birding in Jackson County Alabama this fall migration. Jackson County borders Marion County Tennessee to the south and has a lot of fine habitat, especially along rt. 92 which runs along a stretch of the Tennessee River. Yesterday (9/13) showed a lot of migrant passerine movement and all of the following birds I recorded along rt. 92. 14 species of warblers: 1 Wilson's 1 Bay-breasted 1 Blue-winged 1 Orange-crowned 2 Blackburnian 1 Northern Parula 1 Prairie 2 Black and White 1 Hooded 2 Common Yellowthroat 10 American Redstart 18 Tennessee 20 Magnolia 12 Chesnut-sided 14 White-eyed vireo 6 Yellow-throated Vireo 1 Blue-headed Vireo 4 Red-eyed Vireo 4 Summer Tanager 2 Scarlet Tanager Some other birds I have observed in this same area this fall include Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Least Flycatcher, and Philadelphia Vireo Kevin Calhoon Assistant Curator of Forests Tennessee Aquarium 423-785-4070 =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
