Old Hickory Dam, Nashville, TN
Traveling
Birded Old Hickory Dam area this morning hoping the cold fronts might have
brought in some Terns. No luck.
Best birds of the morning were approx. 2500 Purple Martins in two flocks.
One on the wires at the Dam(1200) the other on the Transmission
lines(1300) just down river from the Dam near the boat ramp. There was also
and
Osprey feeding on its morning catch on one of the lights on the Dam.
August 8, 2014 at Fate Sanders Marina in Smyrna, TN on J Percy Priest Lake
I had 350 Purple Martins on the Wires there along with some Barn Swallows
and 1 Cliff Swallow.
