Vickie and others,

The American Bird Conservancy has a PDF addressing this problem and giving a
number of possible solutions. Here's the link (you may have to cut and
paste):

I hope this helps.

Subject: [TN-Bird] Off topic question: window strike remedies

I would appreciate receiving any information anyone may have on effective
and cost-effective remedies for windows that attract window collisions in
private residences. I am receiving collision death reports more often
lately, especially during this migration season with hummingbirds being the
most frequent victims.

I would like to be able to offer a list of good solutions and sources.
