Hi all

I just saw an odd loon at the east boat dock in Melton Hill Park. It was a in
winter plumage, but seemed small and gracile for a common loon. The beak looked
a bit on the thin side as well. It looked like it had faint checkering on the
back, the back of the neck, nape and crown were dark and the breast, front of
the neck and throat were light. It was pretty far out and I had no scope.
Might be worth a look by someone with more loony experience.
