Hummers are expected in Tennessee until mid-October. After mid-October, it's worth looking very closely at any hummers to make sure they are not vagrant western species. For that matter, it's worth looking now, since Rufous-types are already being reported, but after mid-October, the probably that a hummer is not a Ruby-throat goes up exponentially.
