Tuesday, April 6, 2010 Obion County I was working in Obion County today and had the following birds of note: On Muse Road- Broad-winged Hawk - 1 Swainson's Thrush - 1, I had excellent looks at this bird sitting in a thicket right beside the road. It seems a bit early to me but I had nothing to reference their spring arrival dates. I'll check it when I get home. On Marshall Kirk Road - Hooded Warbler - 1 On Sheppard Road - Louisiana Waterthrush - 1 On W. Shawtown Road - Greater Yellowlegs - 1 I had multiple Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and Northern Parulas in multiple locations. The Greater Yellowlegs was the only shorebird that I had other than Killdeer. I searched several locations where I had Am. Golden-Plovers last year and had available habitat but no birds were there yet...I'll try again later in the week.
