We have seen Tennessee warblers all 4 years at our North Knoxville residence during spring & fall migration, but this year is a bumper crop. We have seen numerous Tennessee warblers the past 2 weeks, but today takes the cake: We saw 6 Tennessee warblers at one time drinking at our back yard fountain! A scarlet tanager came in & broke up the party. Also this weekend, Swainson's thrushes returned in numbers, gray catbird, ruby-throated hummingbird, & FOS yellow-bellied sapsucker. We took a trip 10/8 Saturday 10 am to Songbird trail at Norris Dam. Birds were at a premium. Highlights were a Palm warbler, Eastern phoebe, & a Cooper's hawk catching game in the field & eating it from a tree perch.
