I gave my wife, Leslie, a pair of 8x42 waterproof Nikon binocs obout 5
yearsago. Internal fogging developed on the eyepiece lenses, so she
contacted Nikon to see if they could clean them at a reasonable price.
Answer: yes, the price would be $10 plus shipping. -Great! She sent them
off. A couple weeks later, Nikon called to say that parts would be
required, but unfortunately, shipping them from Japan would take an
inordinately long time, so would it be O.K to send a brand-new replacement
pair? YES! - In a few days she received an in-the-box set of Monarch ATB,
waterproof, FOGPROOF, binoculars, superior in every way to the originals.
We've in fact read that some users are of the opinion that they're
equivalentto $1000+ Swaroskis or Leicas. So, 5 stars for Nikon for
exceeding any reasonable expectations for product support, and standing
behind their 30-year warrantee. Michael Sledjeski
