Both of these birds were seen regularly today at Rankin Bottoms in Cocke
County. It appears the Neotropic is the first sighting East of Nashville.
It would appear there is a good chance that both of these birds may be around
tomorrow. The Neotropic left twice but came back to the same snag each time.
This seems to be a common trait of these cormorants. The Tricolored Heron
moves around alot and has not been particularly hard to find. Both birds are
on the big pond on the left when you get to the main section of Rankin.
KTOS is holding an informal bird outing there tomorrow morning. Jimmy Tucker
will be there starting at 7:30 am. All are welcome to participate. There is
no walking required.
