Nashville-Davidson Co. TN Wednesday 13 October 2010 Last night's overcast skies and intermittent rain may have played a role in the good birding at Radnor Lake this morning. Ten warbler species was a treat, but so were the WIGEONS and GADWALL and large number of BLUE-WINGED TEAL on the lake. We got a good look at a PHILADELPHIA VIREO as well as a BLUE-HEADED VIREO. Both KINGLET species were observed at the same time, causing some confusion as one person called out "RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET", while another was saying "GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET". Both callers were right. The BROWN CREEPER was a first for many this fall. There will be one more Fall 2010 Wednesday morning walk sponsored by the Nashville chapter of TOS, on Wednesday 20 October. We meet at 7:30am in the West Parking lot.
