To echo Kevin's sentiments, it was a magical morning at Radnor, with not only
great diversity, but great numbers as well. Warbler song was virtually
continuous from the parking lot all the way to Long Bridge. Bay-breasted
warblers were especially conspicuous, with over a dozen along this stretch. A
few lucky birders also managed fleeting looks at a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO near the
observation deck, as well as a lingering encounter with a singing
BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER just before Long Bridge, both of which are rare
treats here in Nashville.
Truly a great morning to be out.

Beautiful clear skies, light wind and sunshine made for an excellent morning at
Radnor for the TOS walk sponsored by the Nashville chapter. The Spillway area
proved very productive where the group, strung out along the bridge, got good
looks at a YELLOW WARBLER and several AMERICAN REDSTARTS. Further down the path
we saw a PHILADELPHA VIREO, just above eye level. BLACKPOLL WARBLERS and
BAY-BREASTED WARBLERS were well represented. We also got great looks at two
male BLACKBURNIAN WARBLERS as well as a male HOODED WARBLER.
Thanks to all who participated and helped in locating birds for fellow
participants.
