Harpeth River Greenway/Morton Mill Road Lake Davidson Co. Nashville, Tn 2009 Aug 28 6:20-&:00 pm A short walk this evening with my wife Bonnie to see the birds at Morton Mill Road Lake turned up another lonely shorebird species. This time accompaning the KILLDEER it was a single SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, feeding on the very limited mud flats. If we only had some decent shorebird area in Davidson County we would certainly get some more numbers. As we returned to our parked car we looked up and saw a flock of 30 COMMMON NIGHTHAWKs flying to the SW, our first sighting of this species this year. It is always nice to see them.
