I just got a report from Randy Scoggins, Big South Fork chief ranger, that
he saw 4 Swallow-tailed Kites yesterday in Morgan County. He watched the
birds for several minutes as they circled overhead. This was at the
cemetery along the north side of Highway 62 about 1.4 miles west of
Lancing. There are several large pastures and hayfields interspersed with
forest in this area. Randy worked at the Everglades for several years where
he saw them fairly regularly. He gave me a good description of them.
